As Chief Innovation Officer, part of my work at Optimize Health includes the Data Protection and Cybersecurity function, which entails making sure our people, processes, and technology are safe and secure from data breaches, phishing attempts, and follow industry best practices on privacy and security.

This includes everything from making sure our employees follow HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) protocols for storing and sending data, to helping Optimize Health achieve the “gold standard” for privacy and security in our industry.

Optimize Earns HITRUST Certification

Most recently, over the last year we have worked alongside the HITRUST Alliance to ensure that our technology solutions and platform meet the “gold standard” for privacy, security, and compliance via rigorous, third party testing and checks.

Now, I am thrilled to announce that Optimize Health has officially received our HITRUST Certification. This means that our platform and associated information protection program have been validated by a 3rd party and are consistent with the objectives specified in the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

With our official HITRUST Certification, we are one of the few remote care companies who can demonstrate a long-standing commitment to the strongest threat management, mitigation practices, military grade data encryption, and 24/7 monitoring to ensure our client’s patient data is safe and secure. In fact, with 83% of older adults reporting that they lack confidence that their online information remains private online, providers and their care teams can trust that our solution is safe and secure for their patients.

Why HITRUST Certification is Important

With this certification, our clients and their patients can trust that we have an actionable roadmap to meet (HIPAA) requirements and are following protocols for processing, transmitting, and storing PHI.

In addition, by including federal and state regulations, standards, and frameworks in a risk-based approach, the HITRUST Assurance Program ensures organizations address security and data protection challenges.

“The HITRUST Assurance Program is the most rigorous available, consisting of a multitude of quality assurance checks, both automated and manual,” said Bimal Sheth, Executive Vice President, Standards Development & Assurance Operations at HITRUST. “The fact that Optimize Health has achieved HITRUST Risk-based, 2-year Certification attests to the high quality of their information risk management and compliance program.”

What Does HITRUST Certification Mean for Practices and Patients?

For our clients and our patients, our HITRUST certification means we are committed to going above and beyond to protect sensitive information.

“With our HITRUST certification, Optimize Health joins elite company as one of the few RPM vendors who meets or exceeds the most complex compliance and privacy requirements that include technical and process elements such as NIST and ISO,” said Todd Haedrich, CEO at Optimize Health. “We are pleased to offer providers and enterprise health systems the highest standards for data protection and information security by achieving HITRUST Risk-based, 2-year Certification.”
